South Africa Cape Town Shark Cage DivingDuring our afternoon shark cage diving trip in Simon's Town you will be able to see the Great White Sharks from a point blank range and the best part is that this trip revolve around shark cage diving. No diving experience is necessary.

Our trips run from Simons Town, which is only 40 minutes from Cape Town.

For the afternoon shark cage diving in Simon's Town we chose  to only take only 8-10 divers on the boat so you can enjoy a comfortable  trip in a more personal and exclusive environment.

No Scuba qualifications are necessary! The cage floats just under the surface of the water, and it is situated alongside the boat. Only two enter the cage at a time, all scuba equipment stays on board and only the scuba hose enters the cage, allowing you to enjoy a great dive without cumbersome, heavy tanks and gear.

The average dive time is 20 minutes depending on the shark activity. Once everyone has had a go, and if there is enough time, then a second dive is allowed. Our crew is highly trained and safety is of utmost importance.

Itinerary

12h30: Meet at our shop to pay for your trip.We are situated next to the post office in Simon’s Town Board Walk Centre, Wharf Road , Simon’s Town

You will be welcomed aboard and a full safety briefing is given as well as the expected weather forecast for the day. An overview is given about what the trip entails and what is to be expected.  All guests are brief on what to be on the lookout for as well as information regarding seal movement and the sharks hunting behaviour.

South Africa Simon's Town Shark Cage DivingWe do an inspection lap of the island giving information on the animal and bird life that is found on Seal Island. We then choose the best spot to anchor up with regard to wind and swell direction.

The cage is lowered into the water to free up the working area on the deck.  A bait line is put in the water as well as the carpet seal decoy. Every precaution is taken not to injure the shark. We do not feed sharks, nor touch sharks. We are NOT an adrenalin outfit.

Then it’s time to get up close and personal with the sharks. The average dive time per guest is a 20 minutes.

One of the several on board guides will interact with the clients during the course of the trip to supply information and answer any questions the guest may have. You will still have excellent views of the Great White Shark should you chose not to dive.

We have a cooler box, with muffins as well as, something healthy; fruit juice, bottled water, fruit and something not so healthy; coke, crisps, sweets and chocolate.

16h45: We start to head home to Simonstown. This may be earlier depending on shark and weather conditions.
