South African Safari TourA truly unforgettable Southern African adventure for all outdoor, wildlife and nature lovers. On this tour / safari you get to explore some amazing wildlife reserves such as the Kruger National Park in South Africa and Chobe National Park in Botswana. Other highlights of this tour / safari are a visit to the "Panorama Route" of the magnificent Drakensburg Escarpment, hiking in the Soutpansberg Mountains (situated in the province of Limpopo also known as "the land of legends") and Makgadikgadi Pan which is one of the largest salt pans in the world (also known for its prolific bird life in the wet season). End off the tour / safari with a visit to one of the "seven natural wonders of the world" - Victoria Falls.

Johannesburg to Victoria Falls Itinerary

Day 1

Accommodation: Journey’s Inn Africa (3 Star)

Meals: Dinner


Your guide will meet you upon your morning arrival in Johannesburg at O R Tambo International Airport. Depart for a township tour of Soweto, visit the very moving Hector Pieterson Museum and Nelson Mandela’s House - reflex on the “Apartheid” era of South Africa’s history. Lunch en route, before checking-in at our charming little lodge near the airport. Dinner will be served at the lodge.  



Day 2

Accommodation: Hippo Hollow Country Estate (4 Star)

Meals: Breakfast


Travel via Middelburg, Dullstroom, Lydenburg and the breathtaking “Panorama Route” to admire the natural beauty of the Blyde River Canyon - third deepest in the world, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window. Lunch en route and dinner can be enjoyed at the lodge’s restaurant. Overnight in the beautiful Sabie River Valley near Hazyview.



Day 3 & 4

AccommodationSantara Camp (3 Star)

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Other Included Activity: Sunset or evening open vehicle safari with a park ranger


Depart for the world-renowned Kruger National Park (KNP). Spend the next two days in the central Kruger area, which is known for its large herds of zebra, wildebeest & giraffe and they are the main prey for lions!!!!. Dinner on the first night will be served at the camps restaurant and the next night as a traditional “potjie” - stew prepared by your guide - good luck. Overnight in the KNP.          



Day 5

AccommodationPunda Maria Camp (3 Star)

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner


Travel north through Kruger. The KNP is known to be the most diverse park on earth with 140 mammals, 119 reptiles, ± 506 bird, 55 amphibians and ± 1980 plant species. Dinner will be served at the camps restaurant. Overnight in the park. 



Day 6

AccommodationLeshiba Lodge (4 Star)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner


Depart after breakfast from the park via Punda Maria Gate. Travel through Venda, which is known as “the land of legends” to Leshiba nature reserve nestled in an extremely remote area of the scenic Soutpansberg Mountains. Arrive early enough to have a picnic lunch and to enjoy an afternoon hike on a guided archaeological (rock art) trail that offers an enlightening and mystical venture into the past.  Dinner will be served as a traditional “braai” - barbeque prepared by your guide. The unique luxury   Venda style Leshiba lodge was built on the foundation of an old Venda village.   




Day 7

AccommodationNata Lodge - Safari Tents (3 Star)

A travelling day. Depart early morning for Botswana. Breakfast and lunch en route. Travel to Nata via the Zanzibar Border Post (SA / Botswana border post), Selebi-Phikwe and Francistown. Overnight near Nata - the gateway to Botswana’s rich natural beauty.



Day 8

AccommodationChobe Safari Lodge or similar (4 Star)

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Optional Activities: Tiger fishing on the Chobe River


This morning we take an included open vehicle safari to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, which is known for its prolific birdlife. Then we travel to Kasane, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge on the banks of the Chobe River. This area is well known for its large herds of elephant and Cape buffalo. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Kasane - Botswana.



Day 9

Explore the Chobe National Park - “Big 4” country, on an early morning included open vehicle safari. You then have the rest of the day to relax at the lodge with its beautiful setting along the Chobe River, before an included sunset river safari into Chobe National Park. Overnight in Kasane - Botswana.



Day 10

AccommodationVictoria Falls Hotel (5 Star)

Optional Activities: Sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, elephant back safari, walking with the lions, helicopter / micro-light or Tiger Moth flights over Victoria Falls, white water rafting on the Zambezi River, zipline, bridge swing or bunjee jumping over the Zambezi River


Cross the border at Kazungula to Zimbabwe for a visit to one of the “natural wonders of the world”. Although, Dr David Livingstone first viewed the Victoria Falls on the 16 November 1855 from Livingstone Island in Zambia, the best view of the Victoria Falls is without a doubt from the Zimbabwe side. Enjoy lunch, the afternoon and evening at leisure at the “grand old lady” - colonial style Victoria Falls Hotel or participate in an optional activity. Overnight in Victoria Falls - Zimbabwe.



Day 11

Meals: Breakfast


The morning at leisure, before we transfer you to the Victoria Falls Airport in order for you to catch your flight to Johannesburg and then home.
