Lesotho Accommodation

Lesotho has recently embarked on a grading programme for its accommodation establishments, unique in that it takes into account environmentally friendly practices as well as access for people with disabilities. Benchmarked against the high standards of neighbouring countries, it ensures quality and accountability to add to the legendary hospitality of the Basotho people. This hospitality can be enjoyed in the home stays, where the close-kit culture and traditions of the Basotho can be experienced first-hand. Other accommodation includes hotels, lodges, self-catering units, camp-sites and bed and breakfast establishments. The capital, Maseru, is better known for guest houses, B&B’s and lodges than hotel chains. Country cottages, mountain and dam retreats, adventure farms and lodges all offer clean, comfortable and welcoming lodging in very clean air and beautiful surroundings.

The tourist areas of Katse Dam and Sehlabathebe National Park do no yet offer many accommodation options internally, but can be accessed from the surrounding establishments. Some unbeatable skiing and accommodation packages are on offer throughout the Afriski season.
